Hetalia Drama CD: Prologue 2 - “A HAPPY NEW YEAR”

Here is one of my favorite scenes from the Hetalia Drama CDs! Italy and Germany get lost on their way to Japan’s New Year’s party and show up late… and drunk. And drunk Italy is quite possibly the best thing ever. (ノ´▽`)ノ♥

Note: This translation is likely imperfect, as my listening ability is admittedly not as good as my reading. But I hope it’s close enough for you to enjoy it at least! Happy New Year! (=ヮ=)૭

—————————————————————————

Germany: Hey! Japan!

Italy: Happy New Year!

China: What’s that-aru?

Japan: Germany-san with Italy-san.

Austria: What were you doing until now? We were worried, you idiots!

France: Oh? There aren’t any pretty girls here?

Hungary: Hello, France-san? I’m a girl too, aren’t I… *giggle*

America: Yaaah, you guys brought a gong* for me, didn’t you! [*Not really sure that’s what he’s saying they brought him, but ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌]

England: America! Don’t run away as soon as you start losing the game!

Japan: Italy-san. Germany-san. Up until now, what in the world…?

Germany: Well, we accidentally got lost. Then, we were by this big bell, and there were a ton of people there!

Italy: And then… the bell was going “GOOOOONG!” and making a huge noise… *hic*

Germany: Then, we walked along with the people and finally made it to a place called… what was it this time… a “jinja”.

Italy: It was amazing! It was full of shops! Like yakisoba…

Germany: Ah, yakisoba.

Italy: …and takoyaki…

Germany: Ah, takoyaki.

Italy: It was delicious~

America: No fair! No fair, you guys!

Japan: Now now, America-san. You’ll be able to eat some when we do our first shrine visit of the New Year. So, why in the world are you drunk like that?

Germany: *cough* About that… at that place called a “jinja” there was dancing and sake being served.

Italy: And, well~ we were given a lot to drink!

Germany: Then, they liked the way we drank and gave us a bottle of sake to take as a souvenir.

Italy: That’s right! Hey, let’s all drink it together!

Japan: Eh? It’s already 2:00 in the morning.

America: Sounds good! It’s right for the New Year, after all!

Japan: Just a moment, America-san.

France: We haven’t celebrated nearly enough yet.

Japan: Even you, France.

Russia: I’m sure just this isn’t enough.

Japan: How much do you intend to drink, Russia-san?

France: Now now, don’t say such stiff things.

Hungary: We only celebrate this once a year after all.

America: Hey, Japan! Is it okay to eat this huge “obento” with things like shrimp, beans, and carrots in it?

Japan: Yes. This is called “osechi-ryouri”. It’s a dish made in order to not disturb the kitchen when welcoming God into the New Year. It’s also made to give the busy ladies a break on New Year’s Day.

France: Oh, what’s this? Lobster escargot. Isn’t that magnificent.

England: Ah, France! The toast is first, isn’t it!

Germany: Ahem. Okay everyone. If we all have a glass…

Italy: Ahem! Well then, to having fun with everyone this year too!

Japan: Pray for world peace.

Everyone: Cheers!

Japan: Cheers.

Japan: In the end it turned into a blended Japanese and Western party, didn’t it.

Italy: Hey hey, Japan. Next year come to a party at my house! We have a lot of delicious cooking that won’t lose to Japan’s!

Germany: Yes. I’d like to go see that too. New Year’s in Italy.

Japan: Heh. Well then, this year as well…

Italy and Germany: Please treat me kindly!

Italy: Hey, hey! In Japan there’s a custom where older people give children an allowance, isn’t there?

Japan: That’s right. This custom is called “otoshidama”-

Italy: Then… give me some too!

Japan: Italy-san is an adult, aren’t you?

Germany: Italy! How long do you plan on being a child?

Italy: Eh? I’m still a child! Big Brother and Big Brother France call me a child. That’s why, I want an ”otoshidama”! I want it! I want it!

Germany: I-TA-LY!

Japan: My, my. Germany-san.

Austria: *sigh* It looks like this will be another noisy year, doesn’t it?

Hungary: It’s fine, isn’t it? If everyone in the world enjoys themselves peacefully.

Cherik, christmas presents

[ cherik for a prompt by ellengrieves, who prompted: Christmas is nearing, and both Charles and Erik (separately) go to various stores looking for the perfect gift for each other, and Charles gets Erik something super cute that he knows Erik loves (but hates admitting) and Erik getting something sweet for Charles (maybe a pet? A collectable?, something that really means a lot to Charles). The rest is up to you :D ]

It was Christmas time, and the teenagers of the house were opening their presents while Erik and Charles looked on. The children were obviously trying to savor it, as they didn’t get Christmas every year. Out of respect for Erik, they decided they’d have Hanukkah every other year. Charles thought it was fun, and loved learning about a new holiday first hand, but the kids weren’t as happy.

They could only take so many potato pancakes.

Gerita: wedding proposal prompt

[ A/N: ikitooo suggested a Gerita proposal. :D Thank you for the prompt, and I hope you all like it! <3 ]

“F-feliciano.” Ludwig cleared his throat, glancing over at the brunette sitting by him on the park bench. It was a beautiful autumn day, and they had been out since noon. It was around six now, and Ludwig had finally worked up the courage to ask the question he’d been saving for a while now, for just the right moment.

“Hm, Ludwig?” Feliciano asked, smiling warmly as he threw the last piece of his bread roll to a bird a bit away.

Ludwig didn’t answer at first, watching the bird peck at the food. He swallowed, his hands in his coat pockets, one absently tossing a small velvet box about. He’d bought it a month or two ago, but hadn’t worked up the courage to ask until now. Or so he thought. He briefly wondered if he should just wait, but thoughts of a wedding popped into his mind, followed by thoughts of pledging their hearts to one another. It sounded so nice that he couldn’t bear to wait any longer.

“Ludwig?” The lithe brunette piped up again, looking over at his boyfriend this time.

Ludwig looked back at him, “F-feliciano.” He repeated, swallowing. He went and kneeled on the ground before the other male. “I… I… well, I don’t entirely know how to put this,” he said, starting to blush. “But I’ll try my best…” He cleared his throat once again, breathing deeply before speaking up. “I love you.” Ludwig managed, looking up at Feliciano, into those amber eyes. “I love you so much. I love your personality, your appearance, everything. I love how adorable you look when you’re tired and ready to sleep, and how you blush when I point out how beautiful you are. I love your many talents, hearing your voice… your smile is the highlight of my day.” He continued, the words tumbling from his mouth so quickly that he didn’t even have time to be embarrassed. “I love everything, everything, about you, Feliciano. And…” He stopped for a moment to reach into his pocket, looking down at it as he fumbled with trying to get the box out.

Ludwig noticed that his hands were slightly sweaty as he finally pulled out the velvet box, “Feliciano.” He looked up into the other’s eyes once more, noticing the way that they had slightly widened. ( He hoped it wasn’t due to disgust, or anything even slightly akin to that. ) With another deep breath Ludwig opened the box, presenting the ring to his lover. “Marry me?”

The German noticed tears start to fall from Feliciano’s eyes, and his heart sunk. He was about to ask if the other was alright, but the question was quickly answered as Feliciano tackled him to the ground, sending them both flying backwards. Ludwig then found himself being showered with kisses and a million ‘yeses’, coupled with ‘i love you’s.

The German couldn’t help but smile at the attention, wrapping his arms around Feliciano and giving a laugh, accepting them all. He’d never been happier.

[ A/N: Time to work on that cherik prompt, now. <3 ]
